The Flying Eagles most likely starting XI today outscored the other half of the squad 2-0 in a final training session before the team’s departure to Argentina.
Bulgaria-based midfielder Tochukwu Nadi and Jude Sunday scored the goals for what looks very much the team who will start their opening U20 World Cup group game against the Dominican Republic on May 21.
The training game was played inside the mainbowl of the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
Coach Ladan Bosso played his favoured 4-3-3 formation with goalkeeper Chijioke Aniagboso in goal and a back-four of Solomon Agbalaka, Augustine Njoku, Abel Ogwuche and Benjamin Frederick.
The three-man midfield was Daniel Daga, Tochukwu Nadi and Samson Lawal, while the attack had Ibrahim Mohammed ‘Beji’, Emmanuel Umeh and Jude Sunday.
Skipper Daniel Bemeyi, goalkeeper Nathaniel Nwosu, Haliru Sarki, Salem Fago, Ibrahim Abdullahi and Joshua John featured for the second team.
The squad will fly out of Abuja Saturday night on Turkish Airlines with a stopover in Istanbul, Turkey, before they arrive at their final destination Buenos Aires.
