David Okereke was forced out of today’s derby between Venezia and Verona by a muscle injury.
The extent of the injury will have to be ascertained later.
The forward, who has enjoyed a fine run back in Italy on loan from Belgian champions Club Brugge, limped out of the derby as early as the seventh minute.
Okereke has attracted interests from several top Serie A clubs on the back of his flying start with promoted Venezia.
Venezia raced to a three-goal lead, only for Verona to fight back and win 4-3.
