SCORENIGERIA rates the individual performances of the Super Eagles in their 3-2 win over Cameroon in Alexandria tonight.
DANIEL AKPEYI 5
He was not tested until when Cameroon scored their first goal. No chance to save both goals he conceded. He made a number of saves to keep the Eagles in contention.
CHIDOZIE AWAZIEM 6
He did well defending and joined attack effectively. He was neat with his tackles, conceding fewer free kicks in this game. Shehu Abdullahi’s absence caused by injury was not felt.
WILLIAMS TROOST EKONG 6
He was calm and calculating as usual. Formed a good understanding with Omeruo.
KENNETH OMERUO 6
He was calm, won a lot of tackles, but he lost an aerial contest that resulted in Cameroon’s second goal. He needed to be calmer when he had clear his lines back in defence. Not as commanding a performance as in his previous games, though.
OLA AINA 6
He was to blame for Cameroon’s second goal when he could not stop Clinton Njie from going all the way to goal. But overall, he looked stable and often joined the attack.

OGHENEKARO ETEBO 6
Did fairly well to play as a screen for the defence but did not stray upfront as he usually does to help out the attack.
ALEX IWOBI 7
Most certainly one of his better games for the Eagles as he controlled the midfield and produced the match winner.
WILFRED NDIDI 7
He was outstanding as usual. Won many tackles and midfield battles.
ODION IGHALO 8 MAN OF MATCH
He was the man of the match. He scored two well-taken goals and assisted Iwobi for the winner. He was denied a hat-trick twice by goalkeeper Onana and the post.
AHMED MUSA 6
The stand-in captain started slowly, but showed his usual self especially in the second half with great runs on the flanks. He forced Cameroonians to commit fouls and one of them resulted in the opening goal. He assisted Ighalo for second goal and severally threatened the Cameroon goal.
MOSES SIMON 6
He did well on the flanks with his fast dribble runs, but he needed to be decisive with his last ball.
SAMUEL CHUKWUEZE 6
He added bite and urgency to the attack with his dribbling skills and runs. But he could still be a lot more decisive with his last ball.
LEON BALOGUN and PAUL ONUACHU didn’t play enough to get any ratings.
