Kano Pillars will battle Calabar Rovers and Rivers United will take on Niger Tornadoes for places in the final of this year’s Aiteo Cup.
Pillars dismantled Aklosendi 4-0, while Calabar Rovers pipped Bendel Insurance 5-4 on penalties after scores were goalless after 90 minutes.
The Kano club are chasing a first-ever FA Cup triumph and lost last year’s final to Enugu Rangers in most dramatic circumstances.
Tornadoes, who were beaten finalists two years ago, also needed penalties to go past giant killers Smart City FC of Lagos after both teams failed to score within regulation time.
It was also another penalty shootout between NPFL sides Rivers United and Lobi Stars.
Both teams played out a 1-1 draw before Rivers United triumphed 4-3 on penalties.
The winners of the cup competition will represent Nigeria in the 2020 CAF Confederation Cup.
