For the second time in two years TikiTaka Academy Nigeria were again denied being crowned Gothia Cup champions by Ghana’s Right To Dream Academy, who are backed by the millions of Premier League champions Manchester City.
In 2017, Right To Dream stopped the Nigerian academy with the odd goal in the Elite U17 championship game, but this year the champions were decided by penalties after scores in regulation time stood at 1-1.
The highly-rated Right To Dream took the lead only for them to be pegged back by TikiTaka Academy, who fought hard to draw level.
The Ghanaians then edged the Final 4-3 on penalties.
It was the only loss suffered by the Nigerians in the annual competition.
