Yusuf Lawal will be entitled to a financial compensation of as much as $25,000 after his Belgian club Lokeren announced they are bankrupt.
The player, 22, could also go to court to press for his claims.
Lawal, like the rest of the squad, has been without salary for several months due to the poor finances of Lokeren.
The former 36 Lion winger is now effectively a free agent, which means he could join any other club following the collapse of Lokeren.
He joined the Belgian side in the 2017/18 season.
This season, he played 13 matches in the second division for the club.
