The Huye Stadium in Butare, where Rwanda and Zimbabwe play their home games in the 2026 World Cup, now faces the risk of being banned after the Super Eagles complained it is sub-standard.
The Super Eagles made a formal protest against the artificial pitch at the stadium in Rwanda after they could only force a 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe in a 2026 World Cup qualifier last month.
South Africa are believed to have also submitted a similar complaint after they lost 2-0 to Rwanda in another World Cup qualifier.
The Amavubis of Rwanda lead the qualifying group with four points after two rounds of matches.
CAF have notified Rwanda that on the back of these complaints, they have been forced to send an inspection team to ascertain the suitability of the stadium.
