English club Wolves appear to be very happy to see the back of striker Tolu Arokodare going by the official statement they put out following his loan transfer to Ajax.
Last week, reports emerged that Arokodare had been involved in a training incident, which even led to the session being called off.
Wolves manager Cesar Peixoto reportedly asked the Super Eagles striker to stop training with the first team. The 25-year-old subsequently refused, resulting in an incident. Tolu then spoke out and refuted these rumours.
“The 25-year-old joined from Genk last September and has played 38 matches since then, scoring six goals in the golden yellow kit. Three of those goals came in the Premier League, the most recent in March against Brentford,” Wolves announced his departure on their official website.
“Although he featured on the final matchday of last season, the Nigerian international started in only one of the last ten matches of the season.
“He is now joining Ajax, which finished fifth in the Eredivisie last season and will play in the Conference League this season provided it makes it through the play-offs.”.
This official statement has generated much surprise among Wolves fans, who are making their voices heard en masse.
“This was written out of pure hate,” posted one such fan on X.
