Super Eagles will stay put in the port city of Alexandria for their AFCON Round 16 clash whether they win or lose to Madagascar on Sunday and thus far their likely knockout foes would be Kenya.
The three-time African champions are top of the standings on six points with Madagascar second in Group B on four points.
Both teams will clash at the Alexandria Stadium Sunday by 5pm Nigerian time.
The other Group B clash between Burundi and Guinea will be played in Cairo at the same time as the Super Eagles game on Sunday evening.
The advantage for the group winners though will be that they enjoy an extra day’s rest and possibly play against a poorer ranked team.
They will play on July 7 against the third-best team from Groups A, C or D, which as it stands now is Kenya, who are now so far the best third-best team after their 3-2 win over fellow East Africans rivals Tanzania last night.
The runners-up of Group B will take on the runners-up in Group F on July 6, also in Alexandria.
