Jamilu Collins may well have booked himself an unlikely Super Eagles lifeline after he was sent off Friday night and will now miss SC Paderborn next match next month amid fears that his German club may not release him for AFCON qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho.
Collins will have to quarantine for 14 days on return from Africa.
However, his dismissal after he picked up his second booking in a 2-2 home draw with Karlsruher SC already means he will miss the game at Nurmberg on April 4.
Quarantine will also mean he is not available for the home game against Bochum, but he will then be available for the visit to Eintracht Braunschweig on April 17.
Paderborn, who were relegated form the Bundesliga last season, are far off the pace for promotion back to the German top flight.
They are currently ninth in the standings, 11 points behind the leading promotion chasers with nine rounds of matches still to be played.
