Samuel Chukwueze opted out of the U20 World Cup in Poland so as to feature at the forthcoming AFCON in Egypt. IKENWA NNABUOGOR takes a closer look at the exciting Villarreal youngster.

Samuel Chukwueze’s current value comfortably hovers around 63 million Euros as Champions League champions Liverpool and a host of other top European sides are considering acquiring the Nigeria’s top talent.

Villarreal stood their ground that Chukwueze wasn’t going to be part of the Paul Aigbogun’s side that struggled to impress at the Poland 2019 World Cup.

The Spanish side hit the bull’s eye for their timely decision not to let their highly-rated youngster to be part of the wobbling team that appeared to be the worst Nigeria’s U-20 team till date.

Without the former U-17 champion, the incredibly struggling team failed to better their last edition’s performance in New Zealand four years ago.

Chukwueze, who had a superlative first season performance in the Spanish top flight, would have had his current value badly hurt by the general bad performance of the team.

The youngster, who is currently regarded as one of the best of U-20 players in the world today, may not have changed anything in the bad team and ultimately affect his current value.

Truly, Chukwueze should be thanking his stars and Villarreal for not being part of the team and his top performance in the friendly against Zimbabwe surely put a gloss on his current bargain.

Respected French newspapers L’Equipe reported that Liverpool could land the youngster should they match his 63 million Euro valuation.

Chukwueze’s promotion to the first team was expected as well as timely as Villarreal wasted no time in having their former academy player do his thing with the seniors and he didn’t disappoint.

Tipped to be the next big commodity for Nigerian football, Chukwueze’s blessed left foot is expected to grace the much more hallowed European pitch in the summer.

His fortune will be further improved should impress with the Super Eagles at the Egypt 2019 Nations Cup finals which begin next week.

He looks set to become the joker for coach Gernot Rohr in the land of the Pharaohs.

And perhaps, he may well be the first Nigerian to play for mighty Real Madrid.
