English Championship side Watford considered a deal for Super Eagles striker Josh Maja this summer, but were deterred by his wage demands.
This is according to Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph.
Maja is a free agent after failing to agree a new contract with West Brom.
Watford, Stoke City, and Bristol City are among the Championship sides that have been linked with the 27-year-old striker.
Watford need to sign an experienced forward to replace last season’s top scorer, Luca Kjerrumgaard.
