Moses Simon would most likely have got his biggest pay day by moving as a free agent to Lyon next summer, but he rather chose to sign a two-year extension to his contract with FC Nantes.
Sources close to the flying winger said the main consideration for him at this point in time is to perfect his French nationality papers.
A transfer may disrupt this and as a result he chose to stay put at his club and now in 2024, he will finally get his French passport.
“There was a strong interest from Lyon to sign him, but he chose to stay at his club to ensure he gets his passport soon,” a close source informed SCORENigeria
The 28-year-old Moses Simon has previously played in Slovakia, Belgium and Spain.
He has been a consistent performer for FC Nantes since he played for them on loan from La Liga side Levante.
At a time he was the highest paid player of ‘The Canaries’.
