Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is one of the biggest omissions from the Super Eagles final squad to the 2025 AFCON.
It is reported that Okoye opted out of the AFCON so as to concentrate on his club career.
He only recently served out a two-month ban for a betting-related offence.
It would be recalled that he received death threats after his blunder caused Nigeria to crash out of the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon in the Round of 16.
Eric Chelle has therefore opted for Francis Uzoho, who has been in the international wilderness since the 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.
The third goalkeeper on the AFCON squad is Tanzania-based Amas Obasogie.
