Are Victor Boniface days in the Super Eagles numbered after a top team official issued a damning verdict on the Bayer Leverkusen striker?
Genk target man Tolu Arokodare got more playing time than Victor Boniface in the 2026 Word Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
The mentality and match fitness of the Bayer Leverkusen striker have now been questioned in the Super Eagles training camp.
“Victor Boniface has a lot of work to do if he were to convince the new coach Eric Chelle that he’s the real deal,” a top team official told SCORENigeria
“His match fitness can be better, but most importantly he ought to have a bigger personality.
“He’s close to Victor Osimhen and wants to be like Osimhen, but he doesn’t have the champion-mentality of Osimhen.
“That’s the big difference between the two players.”
Ironically, Osimhen has backed his namesake to win the CAF Player of the Year award just as he did in 2023.
Victor Boniface himself has now asked Nigerians to be patient with him, promising he will soon start firing the goals for the Super Eagles.
He has yet to find the back of the net for the country in a dozen appearances.

FOR HOW LONG NIGERIA WANT TO BE WAITING FOR ONLY ONE PLAYER TO BANG GOAL WHEN THERE IS A LOT OF BETTER STRIKERS WITH GREAT QUALITY $ POTENTIAL..
** CRIEL DESSERS, MOFFI, GIFT-ORBAN ARE FAR BETTER THAN HIM.
