Victor Boniface has said his goodbyes to his teammates and officials at Norwegian club Bodo/Glimt ahead of a major transfer to Belgium.
The former Flying Eagles striker scored twice for his club on Saturday in a league win over Aalesund and afterwards admitted that could well have been his last game for Bodo/Glimt.
He then flew to Oslo, while the rest of the squad headed back to Bodo.
“I think this could probably have been my last match for Bodø/Glimt. I don’t know, but I think so,” Boniface told AN after the victory.
He also said that Belgium is his next destination.
“I think it is time to take the next step. I think Belgium is the right step,” he added.
Union Saint-Gilloise are believed to be the club who have won the race for his signature.
Last season, they topped the league after the regular campaign before they finished behind Club Brugge in the playoffs.
They will as a result play the third qualifying round for the Champions League against Scottish giants Rangers.
Another Belgian club, OH Leuven, as well as Dutch side Groningen have also shown serious interest in Boniface this summer.
