After another failed major transfer, Victor Boniface will now have to face a battle for first-team place back at German club Bayer Leverkusen.
Leverkusen managing director Simon Rolfes has hinted that Boniface has struggled to fight his way back to the first team.
Victor Boniface has to battle Patrik Schick and 19-year-old Christian Kofane for the lone striker spot in the team.
“Unfortunately, Boniface couldn’t handle the pressure at the beginning of the preseason,” Rolfes told Kicker
“The possibility of a transfer “is an issue that arose because Boni wasn’t as resilient. He’s gotten better, but the question is, can we offer him the opportunities to get really good again?”
