Durable striker Joseph Akpala is poised to join Belgian second division club KMSK Deinze after he was not offered a contract at KV Oostende in the top flight.
Akpala, 34 later this month, returned to Oostende last year as a free agent after a brief stint in Saudi Arabia.
The former Super Eagles striker had hoped to get a contract extension at KVO under a new coach after his latest deal ran out in July, but it was not to be.
The striker has played for several clubs in Belgium including Club Brugge and Charleroi as well as in Turkey and Germany.
He told SCORENigeria he rejected an offer by former team Club Brugge to retire from the game and be their scout.
