Red-hot striker Peter Utaka scored twice to help his Japanese J1 league club Kyoto Sanga FC beat city rivals Sanga FC 3-1 on Sunday in a league game.
The 38-year-old striker opened the scoring in the 10th minute to give his club a 1-0 lead.
Utaka made it 3-0 for his side in the 70th minute.
The former OB Odense hitman has now scored six goals in eight games this season to lead the goal scorers’ chart in Japan.
He scored 21 games in 40 games last season to help them secure promotion to the top flight.
His compatriot Ismail Origbaajo was an unused substitute for Kyoto Sanga FC.
Utaka has seven full international caps with Nigeria with three goals.
