The draw for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League has pitched Super Eagles Victor Osimhen and Calvin Bassey against each other as their respective clubs are in Group A.
Osimhen’s Napoli and Ajax, who parade Bassey, have been drawn in Group A along with Liverpool and Scottish giants Rangers.
For Bassey, this draw also means he will be up against his former club Rangers, who he left this summer to team up with Ajax.
The defender will be making his debut in the Champions League after he helped Rangers reach the final of the UEFA Europa League last season.
Zaidu Sanusi and Portuguese champions FC Porto are in Group B with Atletico Madrid, Bayern Leverkusen and Club Brugge.
Porto reached the last eight last season.
The Nigerian pair of Paul Mukairu and Akinkunmi Amoo will feature for Danish champions FC Copenhagen in a tough-looking Group G, which also has Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla.
It will be the first time both players will play in the group stage of this competition.
Fortune Bassey will play for Viktoria Plzen in Group C, which has Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.
September 6 and 7 are the first matchdays of the competition.
