Sadiq Umar transfer to Villarreal is now just a few days away after the owner of UD Almeria overruled his coach that the Super Eagles coach be sold.
Almeria coach Rubi has said he wants Sadiq to stay put as his goals will guarantee survival in La Liga for the newly promoted club this season.
However, club president Turki Al-Sheikh said they should cash in on the goals the 25-year-old Nigeria striker fired for the past two seasons.
Sunday night, Sadiq featured for Almeria in a 2-1 home loss to champions Real Madrid to the surprise of many as his transfer has been imminent for some time now.
His transfer market value has been put at 18 Million Euros, but Villarreal are prepared to pay 30 Million Euros to now wrap up this transfer.
This will be a handsome profit for Almeria, who paid a record fee of nine Million Euros to sign him from Partizan Belgrade in October 2020.
