Uche Agbo’s hope of joining Belgian club KAA Gent has been dashed after he failed the routine medical and physical test.
He was to have signed a four-year contract.
The 23-year-old midfielder had physical problems last season during his loan to Rayo Vallecano and was not in action for several weeks as a result.
In the last pre-season, he hardly featured on return to parent club Standard Liege because he was nursing an injury.
This latest development means that Gent will now continue to shop for a direct replacement for Nigeria international Anderson Esiti, who left for champions of Greece PAOK Saloniki.
