Toby Uzo has won an historic United Soccer League (USL) Championship Goal of the Season Award for the second straight time.
The FC Tulsa forward set a new record of the first player ever to win the goal of the season award back to back having first won it in 2019.
His diving header goal from outside of the box at OKC Energy on September 30 was picked as the best by voters.
He was delighted with the honour.
“I first of all want to thank God because it’s a blessing to score two Goal of the Year-worthy finishes in two consecutive seasons,” Uzo said.
“I also want to thank the fans, friends, and family that voted, my support group is amazing. I love you all.
“Also thank you to the FC Tulsa organization and my teammates for making it possible.” He said.
Uzo scored just two goals in the 2020 season in nine appearances for FC Tulsa.
