Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi could soon have a Nigerian teammate as Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam is set to join promoted Hull City.
Hull boss Sergej Jakirovic told BBC Humberside he thinks there is progress with the transfer of Iroegbunam.
Jakirovic stated that he likes Iroegbunam and how he is playing, noting that the midfielder has played at this level and Hull need this type of profile.
He expressed hope that they will sign him, but said they will see if it is a loan or a permanent transfer.
Jakirovic revealed there is a lot of exchanging and that initially, the other club wanted more than Hull offered.
He mentioned that Tim is in the last year of his contract, which is an advantage for Hull.
The manager described the player as having a great size, being very dynamic, powerful, having pace, and being strong in challenges and duels, adding that Hull do not have this profile.
