Panathinaikos of Greece are through the final qualifying rounds of the UEFA Conference League after Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers came off the bench to score a dramatic extra-time winner against CSKA 1948 Sofia.
In Bulgaria Tuesday night, Dessers was the Super Sub with the all-important strike after both teams were tied at 2-2 agregate scores (CSKA drew first leg in Greece 1-1 a week ago).
Dessers had endured several months out after he suffered an injury with the Super Eagles at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
His club will now take on either Besiktas or Hradec Kralove for a place in the group stage of the UEFA Conference League.
