Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr could take a vacation now that the new ram Terem Moffi is here, IKENWA NNABUOGOR assures…
Gernot Rohr could be settling for a brand-new pair of sharp legs in the newest sensation in the Belgian Jupiler League Terem Moffi as Eagles resume international duties beginning with the 2021 AFCON qualifier against Sierra Leone next month.
Moffi, 20, refused to leave his young feet off the throttle in Belgium as he arrived with a massive goal-banger tag from less fancied Lithuania where he emerged as one of the leading scorers.
The son of former Enugu Rangers’ goalkeeper, Leo Moffi, had just hit Europe three years ago and wasted no time in settling down to goal-scoring business and Belgian side KV Kotrijk grabbed the red-hot striker ahead of other suitors to continue the act he knows best and he has not disappointed yet.

True to type, his incredible goal haul in obscure Lithuania was nowhere a fluke as he responded gamely netting three times in five appearances thus far for the struggling side, who also have two other Nigerians in their ranks – Imoh Ezekiel and Abduljaleel Ajagun.
Just before the World Cup in Russia two years ago, Rohr had sounded out he was looking for a battering ram to ram Eagles way to the final, but Ahmed Musa and company could not lift Nigeria beyond the group stage.
The hostilities begin again next month as Eagles will be looking forward to flying to Cameroon for AFCON in 2021 and Qatar World Cup 2022 and it appears his ‘ram’ business is still unfinished.
Moffi appears to fit the bill for the ram Rohr has been looking for and should the coach revisit the ram talk again, the KV Kotrijk striker could get a well-deserved look-in.

Rohr will be relying on the feet of Victor Osimhen, Ahmed Musa, Simon Moses, Samuel Kalu and Samuel Chukwueze for goals.
Osimhen has responded admirably with goals following the shock and sudden retirement from international football by Odion Ighalo, but a few more goal scoring feet will be good for the country.
Interestingly, Moffi missed out on the Golden Eaglets Class of 2015 when Osimhen was considered ahead of him for the trip to Chile.
Moffi, only 20, has now hogged the headlines for the right reasons and a well-deserved Eagles call-up could do his confidence a world of good.
The more, they say, the merrier as blooding the youngster into the Eagles ranks will rock competition for striker’s shirt sky high and it will be all good for the Eagles.

Having arrived in January 2020, Moffi has already been in the Jupiler League Team of the Week to underline his class in front of goal.
A left-footed centre-forward, Moffi got the real definition of a ram rapped around him – he’s big, strong, skillful, daring and full of running.
Just like Daniel ‘Da Bull’ Amokachi, who also started his Euro career in Belgium, with whom Moffi draws almost similar comparisons, Moffi could be on his way to bigger things as well.

Surely, Eagles chance will be all good for this youngster.
Who knows he could be ramming away in an Eagles shirt in the near future?
You can bet that the top clubs in Europe will soon be lining up for his signature going by what he has already shown.
