Christy Ucheibe has said she is proud to have scored her first goal for the Super Falcons in a 2022 WAFCON group game that the defending champions were condemned to win against Botswana.
The Portugal-based midfielder came off the bench to make an instant impact by powering home a corner by Toni Payne for the Falcons to beat Botswana 2-0 Thursday night in Rabat, Morocco.
It was a great reaction for the Nigerian women after they lost 2-1 to South Africa in their opening Group C clash Monday.
“I am so proud to have scored my first goal for the Super Falcons and help the team secure this important victory,” she chimed on Twitter.
Ucheibe has been capped by Nigeria at U17 and U20 levels.
Fellow Falcons star Chiamaka Nnadozie was equally excited to post a clean sheet after she returned to the goal posts after suspension.
“+3 (points), clean sheet, God is too consistent to disappoint,” she tweeted.
“God is the Greatest, Lord I return all the glory to your holy name.”
