Tonight, the Super Falcons landed in Morocco in bullish mood to win a record-extending 10th WAFCON crown and banish the disappointment of finishing fourth three years ago.
The Super Falcons will bank on continuity as the bulk of the squad have been together for the past three years, while also counting on the individual qualities of skipper Rasheedat Ajibade, Asisat Oshoala, Christy Ucheibe and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie.
The squad flew in from Lisbon, Portugal, where they had held the home team to a scoreless draw Monday.
Officials told SCORENigeria that there was a slight delay at the airport in Morocco due to the issuance of the team’s visa on arrival.
Top star Oshoala led six other players into Morocco yesterday after they flew in directly from their respective bases.
They will play a final warm-up game against arch-rivals the Black Queens of Ghana Sunday before they open their group campaign against Tunisia in Casablanca a week later.
Algeria and Botswana are the other teams in their first round group.
