Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum has said his team will be gunning for victory in today’s WAFCON decider in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Super Falcons take a 2-0 lead from the first leg in Abuja last week and the overall winners of this tie will advance to the WAFCON to be hosted by Morocco.
“I am confident, we got the win and we scored two goals, but we all know there are two legs to it,” Waldrum said.
“So, we have to come out with the attitude to score goals and win the game (today), we can’t sit back and try to protect our two-goal lead.
“We have to come out aggressively, with an attacking mentality.
“We have to get the result, nothing else matters.”
Debutant Ifeoma Onumonu scored both goals in Nigeria and she has promised more goals in the return clash.
“I was so happy I scored two goals, I want to score more goals and for us to have a better team performance,” vowed the US-based striker.
“I know I have more in me and I know I can do better.
“I am ready for the WAFCON.”
The Super Falcons will again be captained by veteran defender Onome Ebi in the absence of injured star Asisat Oshoala.
It was the Ivorians who stopped the African champions from the Tokyo Olympics.
Kick-off time today is 5pm.
