The Super Eagles will go into Monday’s 2025 AFCON Round of 16 clash against the Mambas of Mozambique supremely confident as they are yet to lose to the Southern Africans in five meetings.
Nigeria have won four of these head-to-head meetings against the Mambas since they first did battle in August 1999, while the two teams played out a goalless draw 10 years later in a 2010 World Cup qualifier.
The Super Eagles victories were 1-0 (friendly August 1999 in Maputo), 1-0 (2010 World Cup qualifier October 2009 in Abuja), 3-0 (January 2010 AFCON Angola) and 3-2 (friendly October 2023 in Lisbon).
In Morocco, the Mambas ended a 39-year wait for victory at the AFCON when they defeated Gabon 3-2 in a Group F match.
Monday’s showdown will kick off at 8pm in Fes.
