SCORENigeria can exclusively reveal that Moses Simon and Alex Iwobi will not start for the Super Eagles in tonight’s friendly against Cameroon in Austria as coach Gernot Rohr rings several changes to the team who fell 1-0 to the Indomitable Lions at the weekend.
Moses Simon was Nigeria’s best player in the first friendly in Vienna, but he will now have to make way for Peter Olayinka of Slavia Praha.
Iwobi, on the other hand, posted a subdued performance in the first half against the Lions before he raised his game after the break.
Oghenekaro Etebo has also been left on the bench after he started the first clash.
Portugal-based attacking midfielder Abraham Marcus will start as the Eagles continue to hope for a creative spark in the middle of the park.
Altogether, Rohr has made five changes to the starting XI in the first XI – Francis Uzoho in goal, Valentine Ozornwafor in for the injured William Ekong, Marcus for Oghenekaro, Olayinka in place of Moses Simon with Ahmed Musa also starting ahead of Iwobi.
Jamilu Collins has recovered from an ankle problem in time to keep his place at left back, while Paul Onuachu and Kelechi Iheanacho will again form the twin strike force that failed to fire on Friday.
