New Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has tipped the team to be great again after he commended the attitude of the players ahead of a friendly against Mexico.
The coach said the players showed they are ready for the test ahead of them now and future.
“I am encouraged by the players’ attitude and readiness to do well,” he told the media.
“They have shown good character and enthusiasm.
“We will do our best in the games against Mexico and Ecuador.
“The players have shown they are ready for greatness and to do well with the team. We will all put in our best to do well for ourselves, the team and the country.”
Peseiro also stated the games are good test for the team.
“These friendly games are good for us, they are good tests and we will do our best,” he said.
Super Eagles stand-in-captain Williams Troost Ekong further said the team are focused on getting good game and good result against Mexico when they battle at the magnificent AT&T stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The Watford defender said they are not thinking about the next game against Ecuador yet.
“It’s going to be a good test and good game against Mexico,” he said.
“All our attentions and focus are on Mexico. We are not thinking of the Ecuador game yet until after the game against Mexico”
