The Super Eagles will no longer take on Guinea Bissau in a 2023 AFCON double-header qualifier in September after CAF shifted the matches to March 2023.
The 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire has been moved to January 2024 due to weather conditions and as a result the qualifying games to the tournament have also been moved.
Africa’s five World Cup-bound teams have also asked to use the September friendly-window to step up their preparations for this year’s World Cup in Qatar, which kicks off in November.
The Super Eagles lead Group A of the 2023 AFCON with six points from two matches.
Sierra Leone and Sao Tome are the other teams in their qualifying group.
