On Friday, Nigeria failed to hold on to a four-goal lead for Sierra Leone to stage a remarkable comeback and draw an AFCON qualifier in Benin City 4-4.
An official statement by the NFF described the outcome of the game as “uncharacteristic capitulation”.
“This has been a real shocker,” admitted Ahmed Musa, who was replaced in the second half.
“I want to, on behalf of the entire team, apologise to the generality of Nigerians for this poor result.
“We will go to Freetown and do the needful.”
An official statement further disclosed that NFF leadership will meet with Rohr and his assistant Saturday morning.
The reverse clash between Nigeria and Sierra Leone will be played Tuesday evening at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown.
