The Super Eagles have complained about the poor artificial pitch they will play today’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe, but at the same time insisted that will not stop them from victory.

The Eagles are under pressure to beat the Warriors of Zimbabwe at the Huye Stadium in Butare, Rwanda, after a disappointing 1-1 home draw with Lesotho in Uyo Thursday.
South Africa’s 2-1 home win over Benin has added more pressure on Nigeria.
“We are on a redemption mission; a serious business is what we have come for,” declared captain Kenneth Omeruo.
“The pitch is poor, but we can’t be bothered right now. We want to get into action and pick up three points.”
Nottingham Forest Taiwo Awoniyi is out of the match after injury complaints forced him back to England after the Lesotho game.
He will most likely be replaced by Terem Moffi.
Kick-off time today is 2pm in Nigeria.
