On Sunday, three-time champions Nigeria lost 2-1 to hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the AFCON Final in Abidjan.
SCORENigeria further gathered that the land gifts were specially from the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, while The FGN gave the flats.
This generosity was extended to members of the backroom staff.
Some of the players who have already been conferred with Member Order of the Niger (MON) national awards will have theirs upgraded to the next level.
Stand-in captain and 2023 MVP William Ekong was elated with the national award after he wept in Abidjan after the loss to Cote d’Ivoire believing he has lost out on such an honour.
President Tinubu, who received the team at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja, said he is proud of them and applauded their resilience and for lifting the spirit of the country.
He admitted it is not easy to get over a loss and that the Super Eagles demonstrated sportsmanship and a can-do spirit.
“Let this passing event not dispirit us but bring us together to work harder. We are a great nation bound as one by the green-white-green banner of resilience, joy, hope, duty, and untiring love,” the President said.
“To those cherished Nigerian youths expressing their gifts in communities, drawing lines in the sand as they play football in their humble rectangles of play, you can be our heroes tomorrow, do not relent in your pursuit. My administration is here to make dreams come true.”
