Atalanta youngster Honest Ahanor, who is still eligible to play for the Super Eagles, is now to undergo a routine medical at Chelsea towards completing a transfer.
Chelsea and Atalanta have already agreed a transfer fee close to 50 million euros for the 18-year-old defender, who has agreed personal terms with the London club that included a long-term contract.
The highly-rated central defender, born in 2008, is leaving Atalanta after one season, having joined from Genoa in the summer of 2025.
Ahanor may be loaned to another club for this season, but not Atalanta for now, and will join Chelsea from June 2027.
