SCORENigeria can report that coach Eric Chelle is set to keep faith with his starting XI, who beat Rwanda 2-0 in Kigali, for tomorrow’s other must-win 2026 World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe in Uyo.
Victor Osimhen scored twice in first half for the Super Eagles to beat home team Rwanda and get their World Cup qualifying campaign back on track after a rather difficult start.
Osimhen was the arrowhead of the Eagles strike force that also had Ademola Lookman supporting him along with wingers Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze.
Chukwueze will get a second chance to shine after he struggled to hit top form in Rwanda and was replaced by Raphael Onyedika as Eric Chelle brought more bodies into midfield.
Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi, who both played the entire game in Kigali, will start again in midfield, while skipper William Ekong leads a back four of fullbacks Bright Osayi-Samuel and Ola Aina and fellow central defender Calvin Bassey to protect goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
Super Eagles Likely Starting XI vs Zimbabwe:
Nwabali – Ola Aina, Osayi-Samuel, Ekong (Captain), Bassey – Ndidi, Iwobi, Chukwueze, Moses Simon – Ademola Lookman, Osimhen
