SCORENigeria has learnt that Super Eagles assistant coach Daniel Ogunmodede is now angling to be named the new head coach of the Flying Eagles, the country’s U20 team.
A top source informed SCORENigeria: “Yes, the Remo Stars coach wants to be the new coach of the Flying Eagles.
“His future at his NPFL club is uncertain and so he desperately needs a soft landing by taking charge of the Flying Eagles.”
Ogunmodede has been one of the local assistants to Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle for the past year, working closely with the country’s top stars at both the CHAN last year as well as the recent 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
He led Remo Stars to a historic first-ever NPFL championship last season.
Tomorrow the NFF technical committee will meet in Abuja to decide on new coaches for the Golden Eaglets, Flying Eagles as well as the Flamingos.
