Eric Chelle has again passed a vote of confidence on the Super Eagles defense that started against Madagascar to also start today’s 2027 AFCON clash in Guinea Bissau.
The defense was guilty of ball watching for the opening goal scored by Madagascar and also let in their striker to come face-to-face with goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
However, Nwabali made a big save in the one-on-one situation to ensure the Super Eagles overcame an early scare to go on to win 2-1 in Uyo.
SCORENigeria has gathered that Nwabali will therefore start again in goal ahead of Udinese shot stopper Maduka Okoye and Arthur Okonkwo.
Fulham captain Calvin Bassey will again take full charge of the back four that also includes fellow central defender Semi Ajayi as well as fullbacks Ola Aina and Bruno Onyemaechi.
