After a makeshift Super Eagles cruised past Uganda 3-1 today in Fes, coach Eric Chelle has now admitted he has a headache selecting his team for the 2025 AFCON Round of 16 clash.
Only three players from the Tunisia game – Victor Osimhen, Bruno Onyemaechi and Calvin Bassey – started against Uganda today as other squad players got a chance to stake a claim for a bigger role in the team.
“I now have a lot of choices because everybody can play in this team and it’s perfect for me,” he said.
Two-goal hero Raphael Onyedika, Samuel Chukwueze and striker Paul Onuachu put up their hand to be counted going forward at this tournament.
He further disclosed he played with a different system vs Uganda – 4-4-2 flat.
“This was a game to try to do another different thing,” he said.
“We have to be ambitious, we have to continue to improve.”
