It was also his first-ever goal at the AFCON.
It was a striker’s goal after he latched on to a pass inside the box by Fisayo Dele-Bashiru after 28 minutes to set the Super Eagles up and running against the Cranes of Uganda.
He has now scored four international goals in 28 appearances since his debut in 2019.
The 31-year-old giant striker would have partly answered some of his critics who have knocked him for not extending his club form to the Super Eagles.
