Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has accused a backroom staff of DR Congo of doing juju during the penalty shootout that Nigeria eventually lost to crash out of the qualifying series of the 2026 World Cup.
“During all the penalties, the guy from DR Congo did some voodoo.”

The Super Eagles fell 4-3 on penalties after scores after extra time stood at 1-1 Sunday night in Rabat, Morocco.
“During all the penalties, the guy of Congo did some voodoo every time, every time, every time,” Eric Chelle told ESPN Africa, while demonstrating the action by raising an arm.
“This is why I was nervous and after him.”
The coach openly confronted the staff member as tempers flared up at the Playoffs final.
