A special report by the Manchester Evening News has named Terem Moffi as one of five “cheaper” versions of Cristiano Ronaldo that would have saved Manchester United many Millions of Pounds.
Manchester Evening News wrote on the Super Eagles striker: “Terem Moffi is a player who stacks up pretty similarly to Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of playstyle.
“At 22-years-old, Moffi is an exciting forward that has already demonstrated an ability to score goals in top European leagues.
“The Nigerian moved to FC Lorient in Ligue 1 last year, scoring a combined 15 goals in 28 starts across his two clubs in the 2020/21 campaign.
“Like Ronaldo, he outperformed his expected goals (xG) by approximately two and a half actual goals last campaign, potentially demonstrating a clinical quality that City are missing in their frontline.
“Moffi is not naturally a willing defender from the front, only completing a total of eight tackles throughout the entirety of last season. This is a quality he would have to improve to play for City under Pep Guardiola.
“The striker is valued at just £9m by Transfermarkt.com, presenting a low risk, high reward option for Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain.”
Jhon Cordoba (Krasnodar), Ignatius Ganago (RC Lens), Andrej Kramaric (Fiorentina) and Duvan Zapata (Atalanta) are the other strikers picked by the Manchester Evening News.
