SCORENigeria has specially learnt that the Super Eagles rejected a payment in Naira while insisting the NFF pay them in US Dollars so as not to be short changed anymore.
It was learnt that the players were paid 750,000 Naira each Tuesday morning and they turned it down.
Their disagreement with the NFF has always been the exchange rate the federation has often used to pay them, which is hugely short from what is prevailing in the market today.
“The players say they are being short changed by the NFF and as such they want to be paid in dollars,” a source at the team’s hotel in Alexandria told SCORENigeria
The NFF have now promised latest Friday the players will be fully paid.
The team are on $5,000-a-man for a win in the group stage of the AFCON in Egypt.
They will receive more in the knockout rounds of the tournament.
