Terem Moffi and Paul Omo Mukairu are leading a new set of young Nigerian strikers in Europe, just as Kelechi Iheanacho and the veteran Super Falcons star Rita Chikwelu continue to prove that class is permanent.
5.Rita Chikwelu
The long-serving Falcons midfielder has continued to shine in Spain after she netted a brace for Madrid CFF to beat Espanyol 3-1. Chikwelu has now scored three goals since her transfer from Sweden this month.
2.Chidera Ejuke
The former Golden Eaglets winger was again on the scoresheet for Dutch club SC Heerenveen in a 2-1 home loss to AZ Alkmaar. He has now scored seven goals in 19 league appearances since his transfer from Norwegian club Valerenga last summer.
3.Paul Omo Mukairu
Little known striker was again the Man of the Match as Antalyaspor ended a winless league run that went on for 115 days courtesy of a 3-0 win over hosts Denilzspor. His club have now climbed out of the relegation zone on the back of this big win. The Abuja-born striker scored a goal and provided an assist. He has now scored four goals in all competitions this season.
2.Terem Moffi
Moffi opened his goals account in Belgium when he came off the bench to draw KV Kortrijk 2-2 with visiting Club Brugge. He was named Man of the Match after he played his second official game in Belgium, again coming on as a replacement for compatriot Imoh Ezekiel. After what he showed in Lithuania, there will be more goals for the left-footed striker to celebrate in Belgium.
1.Kelechi Iheanacho
The Super Eagles striker continued his resurgence in England after he grabbed the match winner against Brentford FC in the FA Cup. Leicester City have thus advanced to the fifth round of the famous cup competition, which has proved to be Iheanacho’s favourite hunting ground as he has now scored 10 goals there over the years.
