Both Victor Osimhen and Folarin Balogun remain the leading scorers in Serie A and Ligue 1 respectively to excite the transfer market in the summer.

5.Gift Orban

The striker has already began to justify his huge price tag of over three Million Euros coming from the Norwegian lower division with two well-taken goals on his debut for Belgian club KAA Gent. Gent may have been put up for sale, but this compact striker has the goals to get this club winning again on the pitch.

4.Nathan Tella

The Southampton loanee helped himself to a hat-trick against Preston North End for Burnley to consolidate their leadership of the English Championship. This was a fitting follow-up to scoring the goal that qualified them to the fifth round of the FA Cup just days earlier. He has now netted 14 goals in all competitions as Burnley maintain momentum for a return to the Premier League in super style.

3.Kelechi Iheanacho

The Super Eagles striker justified another rare start in the Premier League with a goal in first half stoppage time as well as an assist as Leicester City eased any relegation fears with a 4-1 home win over Spurs. He has now scored four goals and provided three assists in the Premier League for cash-strapped Leicester to stay afloat in the increasingly competitive English top league.

2.Folarin Balogun

The Arsenal loanee has continued to sit proudly at the head of the goals race in the French Ligue 1 after he scored his 15th goal in a 4-0 spanking of local rivals Troyes. His goals are one of the main reasons unfashionable Stade Reims are pushing above their weight this season after several campaigns flirting with relegation. Will Arsenal sell him for a huge fee after his heroics in France? And who will he choose to commit his international future – the Super Eagles, England or USA?

1.Victor Osimhen

Nigeria football poster boy has extended his awesome form in front of goal with his 17th goal in 18 appearances against Cremonese in Serie A. Osimhen remains on course to become the first African to be crowned Goal King of the Serie A and Napoli are 16 points clear at the top of the table to further brighten their chances of a third Scudetto since 1990. Thereafter, a record-shattering transfer beckons despite the notoriety of the Napoli owner in such negotiations.
