It was a past week during which the strikers were truly on the prowl across Europe – Terem Moffi in Ligue in France and the two Pauls – Onuachu and Mukairu – in Belgium.
But the defenders were also not left out thanks to Semi Ajayi in the Premier League.
5.Paul Onuachu
The giant striker notched his 15th goal of the season for Genk in a 1-1 draw with Waasland-Beveren. The result would widely be regarded as two dropped points by Genk, who are now two points behind leaders and champions Club Brugge mid-way through the regular season.
4.Paul Mukairu
His enormous potentials are now not in doubt, but he scored his second goal since his arrival in Belgium for Anderlecht to shoot to fourth place on the table. It was superb individual effort and besides that he has also provided two assists as he continues to become more and more dangerous in the opposing goal area. Certainly one to watch more closely in the coming months.
3.Semi Ajayi
He could not have chosen a better place to score his first Premier League goal – Anfield, the home of champions Liverpool. The goal earned West Bromwich Albion a valuable point on the road and it must also have boosted their confidence as they battle to climb out of the relegation zone.
2.David Okereke
The striker-turned-winger came off the bench to net his fourth goal of the campaign against Eupen for Club Brugge. He is now five goals short of his tally from last season as he is expected to get more game time in the second round of the competition in the New Year.
1.Terem Moffi
FC Lorient will need the goals of the young striker to stay afloat this season and he delivered again for them to record a remarkable 2-2 comeback at OGC Nice. It was his second goal of the season. He has continued to pay back the eight million Euros the Ligue 2 champions splashed to sign him from Belgian club KV Kortrijk in the summer. It is gradually proving to be a very shrewd investment.
