Scoring goals this past week in Europe was left mainly to the Super Eagles defenders as Ola Aina and Semi Ajayi both scored to help their respective clubs to important victories. Interestingly, both players were recently sidelined by injury.

5.Cyriel Dessers
The Super Eagles striker has continued to deliver as Rangers challenge the supremacy of bitter city rivals Celtic. He netted his third goal of the league campaign in a 5-0 spanking of Dundee. Four days later, he was also a late sub for Rangers to beat Hearts 3-1 in reach the final of the League Cup in Scotland, where they will take on Aberdeen.
4.Semi Ajayi
The central defender came off the bench to score as West Bromwich Albion beat Hull City 3-1 to climb to fifth position in the English Championship standings. It was his second goal of the season. Ajayi has recovered from injury that threatened to rule him out of 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe later this month.
3.Paul Onuachu
The giant striker returned to scoring ways after his goal for Trabzonspor to edge past rivals Fenerbache 3-2 in the Turkish Super Lig. He has now scored four goals on loan from English club Southampton and Trabzonspor are fourth in the standings with 19 points from 11 rounds of matches.
2.Chuba Akpom
Ajax will owe their recent revival to the scoring boots of Chuba Akpom after he grabbed his first official goal in the all-important win over Volendam and then days later followed up with a brace in a comfortable 4-1 home win over Heerenveen. The mighty Amsterdamers have now shot to 10th position after they had languished in the relegation zone for several weeks.
1.Ola Aina
It took an early strike by the Super Eagles fullback to get home team Nottingham Forest started against high-flying Aston Villa. Like a proven striker, he struck a low clean shot from outside the box beyond 2023 Ballon d’Or Goalkeeper of the Year Emiliano Martinez. Ola Aina has also shrugged off injury to now be fit for Super Eagles duty this month. Forest won 2-0 for their first victory since September. They are now 12th on the table with 13 points from 11 matches.
