Again Taiwo Awoniyi was the brightest Nigeria star of the past week after he fired his fifth goal for German Bundesliga side Union Berlin.
5.Anthony Nwakaeme
The veteran forward is still waxing strong at the ripe old age of 32 as he was the match winner for Trabzonspor at Giresunspor. He scored the only goal of the game just after seven minutes of action. Recently it emerged that a fan has erected a statue in his honour. Should he continue to deliver the goods, more personal accolades will come his way.
4.Semi Ajayi
The defender was the unlikely match hero when he snatched the match winner for West Bromwich Albion at Peterborough. It was ‘The Baggies’ fourth straight win of the Engliah Championship this season and it sets the marker to their ambitions to win promotion back to the Premier League.

3. Henry Onyekuru
The speedy forward ensured new club Olympiacos will feature in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League when he scored his first goal for them in a playoff second leg clash against Slovak side Slovan Bratislava Perennial Greek champions Olympiacos could well be where he will get his once promising career back on track after a rather tough time at French Ligue 1 side Monaco.
2.Ike Ugbo
Last season, he scored 17 goals for a struggling Belgian club, Cercle Brugge. And at the weekend he showed he can score even more with a bigger club like Genk when he came off the bench to grab the match winner against visitors Anderlecht. He will certainly be one striker to watch this season.

1.Taiwo Awoniyi
The striker was not considered for next month’s World Cup qualifiers gainst Liberia and Cape Verde, but that has not stopped him from doing the business for Union Berlin, who he joined on a permanent deal from Premier League giants Liverpool. He netted what proved to be the match winner for Union at home against Borussia Monchengladbach. He has now scored five goals in all competitions.
